If I Can Do This, You Can Do This…..

Here is the thing….

I definitely didn't start this way In fact, quite the opposite...Growing up, I had no idea that being a Coach, Consultant, Mentor ,High Ticket Professional was even a thing. Coming from a humble middle class, conservative educated family with very little financial resources , I was always told to keep my head down, study hard and get a good job and continue working hard. I used to believe struggle was the only way . I grew up having a conventional mindset , low self esteem , huge self doubt ,Living life by default, keep head above the water, trying to fit in , BUT I always had the innermost small little desire to stand out and be more ....( do you sometimes feel life is a struggle , a war but still you want to the winning King or Queen?) Like most Working Professionals ( Oh i didn’t even call myself that earlier, just another employee ) whose goals and dreams were dictated by responsibilities, commitments and the needs! AND I was sold on the plan - Learn, Work hard, Earn, Take care of responsibilities, Work harder! Life felt like a constant struggle between desires and facts. Hard work has its own payoff

By the time I was 27, I was at the CEO office managing the most critical responsibilities which needed credibility and highest degree of confidentiality . By 40 I was Asst Vice President in esteemed financial institution and( and just when I thought this is it…..life took unexpected turn, it made me vulnerable, and in that most challenging phase I Left My JOB to start a Business as I still had financial responsibilities, only to lose my 20 years savings and almost broke)I took some strong corrective measures despite of criticism, fear and guilt of losing it all to re-start my Career once again in Corporate world as I was Invited by a great institute) at 47 a President and then Executive Director in a Multinational. I learned a lot, updated my knowledge, leadership skills, team management , stakeholder management…and all the corporate saga. From the outside, I was a great success really “making it “— and I had it all: the title, the paycheck, the car with the driver, the team , the respectable organization and proud family and parents to prove it. BUT On the inside though, I wasn’t feeling like a success.

Instead, I was actually getting tired of the endless mails, expectations, constant added responsibilities, countless meetings, and most times spending enormous energy on challenges not related to my expertise and potential. I was always working or worrying about work It just felt like running on a treadmill without pause………..I got emotionally numb, i didn't know what I felt, how I should feel, I was emotionally absent when I was with loved ones , ANDI was Burnt Out , Is this it? Is this what I am here for? To earn, pay bills …..Is there an escape? And Then came the unprecedented pandemic and things got out of hand, little boundaries between home and office, personal and professional life, between work and life became almost non existent AND That’s when life hit me in the face and I lost my most beloved Mother! I couldn’t bear it, Still showing up at work, still proving I am worth being employed And I was grappling ….And one day …..I caught myself praying I want to change this before I die…I said Enough…

I wanted more out of my career—and my life—and I knew there had to be something better than working at a 9-to-9 I wasn’t passionate about.

SO I went all in

I decided to take charge of my life. I started working on MYSELF.

I thoroughly followed my Mentor( Jim Rohn )’s advice to work harder on myself while I work hard on my JOB.

Worked on being self reliant, discovering my work , my purpose which can give me Success, Freedom, Significance, Ability to Impact and the skills that can pay my bills . The Mentors that Mend !

(Remember when I told you I didn’t start this way?)

There is more, I did it differently than most professionals do ...

I had quit my well paying Job wrong way before and lost my life’s saving. I decided it will be different and great experience for me this time

I didn’t walk into my boss’s office and dramatically announce that I was quitting (as much as I wanted to).

Instead, I stayed in my job and worked on my skills, building up expertise, and establishing myself independently on the side until I was confident I could rely on it to at least pay the bills.

And guess what?

Everything finally came together and I made a successful career revival, earned financial confidence to be independent while still working at my 9-to-5 sorry 9 am to 11pm.

For the first time since the age of 21 when I started working, I felt happy, passionate and fulfilled by my work.

Now to Quit or Not to Quit was a matter of choice - no desperation, no feeling of slavery or being complled.

You want to know the real drive…. I always wanted to work, do meaningful work and never have to retire ……by age, by being redundant, by someone else’s plan or wish

And ….now you know the rest and best part of story

As someone whose peers, friends and relatives repeatedly asked her, “Why cant you just relax, do the job and earn money? Why you keep attending these crazy webinars, joining courses, why wasting time and money ? Too late, Too much, Too old ”, who didn’t know a single person in the new field, and whom nobody expected to be on their own as they thought being an independent professional is not my cup of tea to succeed, here’s what I now know beyond doubt…

It doesn't matter if you are alone, don’t know how, scared to death to quit the job or no one else in your family believes in you.

What matters is - YOU really wanting to be who you are meant to be? You believe in yourself. You Committed to take your Success to the Next Level
